French 19th century Japonisme bronze and enamel mantel clock
A French late 19th century Japonisme bronze and enamel mantel clock, possibly by l’Escalier de Cristal, Paris
Surmounted by a seated ivory figure of a man wearing typical costume, the dial decorated with a mythological beast’s mask and dragon clock hands, on scrolling supports resting on turtles, raised on a plinth with pierced foliage and scroll feet, the movement numbered 2567 and marked G.GH (for Giovanni-Ghjuvanni Vincenti) and with Vincenti & Cie.1855 Medaille d’Argent pastille.
Size: 20cm wide, 16cm deep, 35cm high.
